BT Halloween Special

On the 13th Floor with Buck-Tick
Happy Halloween, everyone! As for our fave band, BT fits in easily with Halloween as they can be really  dark and death-oriented. But for today, I would like to share a clip that maybe very interesting for today's occasion.

To "Die" and Beyond - Interpretation

Lyrical Interpretation

Disclaimer: Before I am going to discuss the song meaning, I would like to remind the readers that the text that would be written in this section is completely my interpretation from Cayce’s translation of the lyrics. I may have mistakes or inaccurate interpretation (since I wasn't the one who translated the lyrics) that you may want to point out and if there is, please do leave a comment below. If you have other ideas on the song, please do leave a comment below. The song “die” is open for discussion.

BT is very direct on this song. The song “die” simply means “(to) die” and it is clearly very blunt that it is a song about dying. At the start of the song, the singer (Sakurai) was still alive and when it ends, he dies. It is rather a fantasy-like process of death and going beyond.

To "Die" and Beyond - Backstory

die by Buck-Tick
Song: die
Music: Imai Hisashi
Lyrics: Atsushi Sakurai
Album: Darker than Darkness –style 93-

To die is the end of life. There are many theories, myths and beliefs that have been made to justify and explain what it really means to die. These theories, myths and beliefs have driven people to create an imagery of what is death, from horrifying images to a peaceful and lovely beauty.  These images of death have also fueled creativity in arts and literature and it has much evolved throughout the years. Because of its mystery, many have been delighted and indulged in death as a subject. Though dying has influenced a lot of artistic and literary works, the very root of these theories, myths and beliefs are most probably for those who are grieving, for those who needed solace and for those who lost their loved ones. In the end, no one actually knows. Only the dead knows death and that's what "die" is about. It's a song of the final moments of life before death occurs.

Yumemiru Uchuu Live

Dreaming Universe
I know everyone is excited for the new album coming out this mid-September. For a sneak peak, here's a live version of Yumemiru Uchuu. For those who didn't know, this track is supposed to be the new single that was to be released last may, however, Elise no Tameni proved to be more catchy. nonetheless, the band members decided that they will make it as the b-side of Elise. Well, the album is named after this song. It's a great song, but it is greater live. Enjoy~!

Rekindling "Flame" - Backstory

Flame by Buck-Tick

Song: Flame
Music: Imai Hisashi
Lyrics: Atsushi Sakurai
Album: One Life, One Death, 2000

There is always a time in our life that we fall in love. It may be in our childhood, in our teens, in our twenties, thirties and so on. But one of these always gives a deep impression. Most of the time, this impact occurs when we fall in love for the first time. Though it may end badly or sweetly or briefly, its memory cannot be easily erased. The song “Flame” characterizes the first time we experience love. The song focuses on the story of man who retells his own experience of falling in love for the first time; how it started and how it ended. His story can be experienced by everyone and that is how this song can be personal and nostalgic.
